When Everett is done....

When Everett is done with something, whether it be food or a toy he usually just throws it aside. Well I really need to get better at my reflexes....

After a very peaceful dinner (thanks to the DVD Nemo) with the Gabel's and Jenn at Tai Show we went to our favorite ice cream place. Ivan bought Everett his very own Strawberry Shake - of course the smallest size was HUGE.

Well, Everett was done after about 10 minutes and did what he usually does and tossed the cup to the side. I am not sure if it exploded on impact or if I actually tried to catch it and then it exploded. Thankfully we were pulling into Jenn's driveway so I jumped out and let the shake pour off of me and my coat. It was definitely comical! Jenn and Ivan had no idea what happened and just saw me dripping!

Waiting for the Dr. - Let's go Food Shopping!

*
Someone please remind me to never go to the Doctor on a Monday morning.

Everett had a check up on Monday and every sick child from the weekend was stuffed into the tiny waiting room. Thank goodness for Pebbles! She was kind enough to wait in the germ pit while Ivan and I took Everett outside. The wait was going to be more than 30 minutes so we ventured to the corner grocery store. Since it was pretty early it wasn't too crowded and Everett was able to use the mini shopping cart (there aren't that many). It was his first time using the cart and he was a PRO! He knew just what to do. Up and down the aisles, putting bacon, toilet paper and coffee in the basket.

It was just a normal day at the super market for our 18 month old!

Rainy Saturday

We were heading to the car on Saturday and it was just a drizzle so we didn't put the rain guard on Everett's stroller. Well within minutes that drizzle became full rain. Everett was a champ and held on to the GIANT umbrella while we ran to the car. He's such a big boy!

Everett's Dust Buster

With all the little spills and crumbs that come with a toddler we decided to invest in a dust buster. We have had it for a few months now and Everett likes to play with it. Over the past few weeks Everett has been congested so we had to take out the Nebulizer to try and make him feel better. One night after his cous cous fell on the floor he went and grabbed the nozzle off the Nebulizer and tried to use it as a dust buster - it was hysterical. It does have a similar shape.
He's is just too cute and smart.

Here is a picture of the nozzle.

"Socks Suck"

Everett really hates wearing socks. He gets very frustrated when he can't get them off his feet. We have tried to teach him that he needs to pull from the heal but he keeps going straight for the toe area - and when that doesn't work he uses his mouth!!!!

Hey, whatever it takes :0)

And the Mother of the Year Award goes to...

NOT ME! I was so close (well, not really).
So.... Ivan has been talking about this awesome grocery store in the city for a while (PathMark) - it has a parking lot and big aisles with big shopping carts. So we decided to take a trip there last night. It really is huge and quite a difference from other grocery stores in the city. After a while Everett got fussy and needed a diaper change so I took him to the car. With much difficulty and struggle I managed to change his diaper in the back seat, strap him in his car seat and then I proceeded to head to the front seat. I closed the back door and then went to open my door to discover it was LOCKED! I immediately tried the back door again and it was locked too! I looked through the window to see Everett playing with the keys! During my debacle of trying to change a thrashing 1 year old boy in the back tiny seat - I succumbed to giving him the car keys to play with ... NEVER AGAIN! So here I am trying to rip the door off the hinges while Ivan is still in the store. I start knocking on the window and I kept telling Everett to push the button - "push the button Everett, push the button, push the button" ... I must have said it 100 times in 2 seconds - I was freaking out. A million things were running through my head - my cell phone was in the car, I couldn't call Ivan, he was probably going to come out here and break the window to get to Everett, can we call AAA, should Ivan run home and get the spare key.... "push the button Everett, push the button, PUSH THE BUTTON" ... and then finally - click!!!! I WAS IN. My heart was in my stomach. I opened the back door, grabbed the keys and gave Everett a big KISS! He loves those buttons - I'm just glad he pushed the right one. I jumped in the font seat shaking and then gave him a cracker and waited for Daddy so I could tell my tale of why I will not be receiving the Mother of the Year Award - at least not this year!

Here's Everett on the ride home...he doesn't even know what just happened!
