Mason's Bris

We had a wonderful Bris for Mason at Nan's place. It was so wonderful and I am so glad people made such great efforts to be there. Mason's name means so much to me and it meant so much to have everyone I love be there. It was a beautiful day.

Mason Stanley Gabel has arrived....

Well, he is out in the world! Mason Stanley was born on November 11, 2012. His name is a strong one and it has 2 amazing people honored - my mother MarySue and my great grandfather Stanley. They are both looking down on him and will watch over him forever.
Mason is a blessing and we are so happy to welcome him into our family. Everett is so excited to be a big brother!!!

Hurricane Sandy

On October 29th Hurricane Sandy was heading straight for NYC. Ivan and Everett were down at Steve's apartment and took a walk to the river. The wind was so crazy and the water was rising already. On October 30th NYC shut down the electricity below 42nd Street which affected us. We decided to wait it out a day or 2 to see if they would turn it back on. At first it was fun living in the dark but then without a shower and having to climb 7 flights while 10 months pregnant - it just didn't seem like a good idea to stay in our apartment. After calling around and not being able to leave NYC I finally found us a place to stay. My old Boss and friend Steven Cooper was away for the week and offered us his (Penthouse) apartment on Central Park. Well after being there for a few days we didn't want to leave. 4 Bedrooms and 2 floors with your own elevator access was very exciting to Everett (who are we kidding it was so cool for us too)! Everett got to drive the elevator a few times! We stayed for 4 nights and then the power was finally on! We were so grateful for the generosity of our friends Steve & Nancie.
