The Lakehouse

This weekend we went to the Simpson's Lakehouse with Faith, Dave and the kids. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. Everett took his first boat trip but slept most of the time. We had a great weekend with great company. We can't wait to be invited back!

Everett 5 Weeks

Everett is about 5 and a half weeks old today and over the last month he has changed so much! He has been such a good baby and is starting to become aware of his surroundings. He loves going for walks around Murray Hill and going to the park. He digs the bath/shower and is eating, burping, peeing and pooping like a champ! He trying to give mommy and daddy a few hours of sleep at night and is really good at putting a smile on our face every hour of every day.

To My Husband

There are not many words that can describe the feelings I've had in the last 2 weeks. These past weeks have been the happiest and saddest weeks of my life.  There is no way I could have made it through this without the support of Ivan.  He has been an amazing husband, father, son-in-law and brother-in-law.  Ivan was our strength when we couldn't hold our heads up. There has not been a day that has gone by without tears, Ivan has been right there next to me helping me through it.  He is an amazing husband and I am so lucky to have him.

My mother was such a wonderful woman and her life was cut too short.  She was so excited to be a grandmother and I am thankful for the day she got to spend with Everett but there was so more she had to give. Everyday I miss her more and more.  I will treasure every memory, conversation and moment we had together. Looking at Everett helps me smile and I know my mother is looking down on us. He is such an amazing baby and is loved so much.  We will teach him everything my mother has taught me.
We love you so much mom.

The Gabel Family

Mary Sue Volpe Roocke passed away unexpectedly Tuesday May 28th 2008. Beloved Wife of Charles Roocke, mother to Jennifer, Tracey, Charles and Alexandra and grandmother to her new Grandson Everett Gabel. Her life truly revolved around her children. She would always encourage her children to excel academically and be socially responsible. She was known for her compassion and unending ability to give of herself. If an Angel ever graced this earth it was Mary Sue.

On Sunday May 25 she became a proud grandmother to 6lb 11 0z Everret Gabel. Her sun shone as bright as any star in the universe that day and
she had the privilege of spending her last day with her daughter Tracey and her new grandson Everret.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to:
The MarySue Roocke Memorial Trust
1919 Stanley Drive
Merrick, New York 11566
Tracey is being an AMAZING woman in this very difficult time and we are both making Everett our number 1 priority, as we know MarySue would have wanted.

Phishin' Jammy's

Went to the Jammy's last night at the Wamu at MSG. Got to see String Cheese, Disco Biscuts, Gov't Mule, Doug E. Fresh (yeah), Galactic and a bunch more. They all performed their own songs and did a cover of some classic rock tune - was a very cool thing to see/hear! HOWEVER, even though all of Phish was there (for the first time in 4 years), the didn't play together! Page played with some old Jazz guys, Trey with a Beatles cover band, and guys from SCI and DB played a 40 min Phish set that included Antelope, Wilson, Maze and 2001, which was awesome, but not the same ... serious musical blue balls! Anyway - was def. a good time and can't wait to take baby g next year (tracey is laughing reading this)...

Benihana YUM

Had dinner with the Ruby's at Benihana last night and apparently Danielle is a big fan - she was really impressed by the "rice-heart". We sat next to a couple that got rejected from the Jerry Springer show - a 90yr old balls guy and his Japanese dishrag - they provided interesting entertainment the whole night. Danielle and Tracey were in the bathroom with her after dinner and she was farting all over the place - classic! Anyway - all our clothes reek now but had a good time...

My office had a baby shower for me. Jessica scrambled throughout the day to make sure everything was set up. It was really cute and so nice of everyone to participate. Thanks for all the hard work Jess! XO

To the Max!

We had dinner with the Simpson's last night in Joisey. Only took us 90 minutes to get a table at Cheesecake! Max was chillin, pooped once, had some beer and ate asparagus. Shyman had an appetizer of Crazy cause she returned the turkey burger she ordered for dinner because she thought it wasn't a turkey burger?!?!? Anyway, good times with the Simpsons...

A Little Scoll News

Tonight we went to dinner with The Scoll's, The Barrie's The Rubinstein's and The Feldman's. It was great catching up with everyone! Adam made a toast to everyone and then said "and here's to my pregnant wife!" We are so excited for them and can't wait to meet little Deitos in October!

Buckeyes win the NIT

Buckeyes played in the NIT Finals against UMass at MSG last night - and Won! Its not like beating Michigan, but always good to see The Ohio State University get a W! And it was awesome to see it at the Garden (at least one team I like can win at the Garden)!

Baby G got into the spirit too - he was kicking O-H-I-O when TBDBITL played Hang On Sloopy

Baby Camryn

This past Sunday was my cousin Camryn's Christening. She was an angel during the church. She slept through almost the whole service. When it was her turn to be Baptized she was woken by the water, but remained calm. Camryn's big sister Cayden patted her down for support. Cayden then tried to address the Church but was kicked off the pedestal.
It was a beautiful and special day!

No Photoshop required

Ross & Steven 20 years ago...not much has changed since then!
Clearly there are some issues here - what happened to these 2 growing up?

Knicks blow!

Its painful to go to a knicks game these days. some of the teams playing in the NCAA tourney can beat the knicks. hopefully this pitiful play will get us a good draft pick (that we can give to chicago for our all-star Curry). The crazy half-time show girl was pretty cool though - she rode on some uni-cycle and flipped bowls on her head...more entertaining than the frigen game!

Birthright | Israel

Steven is in Israel right now with an organization called Israel Free - its some rich dude that sends anyone under 25 to Israel - like a birthright.

So he's there now - taking it to the extreme somewhat - but the peyes work for him - kinda.

The small pic is of Steven  in Israel when he was 13.

The Toilet Monster

Having brothers that live upstairs has its advantages...

Last night we put a toilet monster in their bathroom. We tried to hang around until one of them found it but it was getting late. About 10 minutes after we left we got a call from Steven asking us if we were trying to give him a HEART ATTACK!

Ivan decided to triple lock our door... we are sure payback is coming!

Brunch at Donna and Noam's

Today we took a drive out to NJ with Jaime, Rachel & Jay to go see the Kritzer Fam.  Adam took a bad fall that morning, but pulled himself together to greet us when we arrived.  We had some bagels, crem brulee french toast (YUM!!!) and some other goodies while Adam enjoyed his avocado on bread with some cheerios and yogurt.   We had a great visit and promised we would try and do it again soon.

Snowy NYC

Its a good thing everyone has those big SUV's in NYC - with this crazy weather - how else could they get around!?!?
