Halloween 2011

Well this year Everett wanted to be a Dragon but the costume wasn't easy to find so we went with CARS. It was almost like last years costume but he loved it anyway. He had such a great time Trick or Treating a day early (since it fell on a Monday this year). We are glad all of Bay street was nice enough to share their candy before the holiday.  On Monday Michelle took Everett and his buddies around the city for some more trick or treating. He is one lucky boy.  Everett then took ALL the candy home and separated it into groups. It was very cute!

Visit from The DeMordaunt's

My good friends Melissa & Kyle were visiting from Utah and came over to hang and watch the BYU game!! They brought their daughter Eloise. As soon as Everett saw her he was in LOVE. He was so cute while he played with Eloise and showed her his cars and toys! It was so nice to see them and we can't wait to one day make it to Utah to visit.

The Casper Wedding

After many years of courtship and buying a home together, my cousin Eric finally married the girl of his dreams! She is an amazing addition to our family. We had such a blast at the wedding and we are so grateful that they included all the kids. Everett represented the newest Casper by wearing his Casper Ghost shirt. We all had a night to remember!

Albany Girls and The Kiddies

We all got together for Columbus Day (sans a few) and took the kiddies to central park. It was such a great day and it was amazing to watch how all the kids played together so nicely. It's so wonderful that we all have kept in touch and have such great friendships.

The Gabel Family is Growing

Another Gabel Girl has joined the Gang.  Jennifer and Steven were married this past weekend on September 16th.  The festivities took place in Tribeca.  It was a beautiful wedding and wonderful weekend.  We are so excited to welcome Jen into our family (officially)!

5th Anniversary

Ivan and I were married 5 years ago today. It was such an amazing and beautiful day (with so much food)! Ivan and I have kept to buying the "traditional" anniversary gifts. This years gift was one of the best!

1 Year - Paper: Tickets to Italy (also one of the best!)

2 Years - Cotton: We both bought each other shirts

3 Years - Leather: I gave Ivan a wallet (he needed it badly) and Ivan gave me 2 belts (same reason!)

4 Years - Flowers or Fruit: Ivan gave me a peach dandelion candle (very creative) and I gave Ivan an apple (not so creative but he has a thing for apples)

5 Years - Wood: This was a tough one... I gave Ivan an OSU wooden cutting board and Ivan gave me a picture of us on our wedding day, burned and carved into a piece of wood!

It's truly amazing!!!

Thanks honey, I love it and you!

1st Day of Nursery School

Everett started his first day of Nursery School today. We caught the bus up 3rd Avenue. When we arrived, Everett was very excited and walked right into his room and got familiar very quickly. It was a great first day and we are looking forward to a great year! Go Ev!

Weekend Fun

While Ivan was off having a Rumpus in Foxwoods, Everett and I had a nice weekend on Long Island. We went to see Aunt Jenny's new place, had some fun in Newbridge Road Park, Everett had his favorite snack right out of the container - Parm Cheese, he fell in love with his winter hat and wore it outside in the 85 degree weather.

We also celebrated Nancy & Jeff's 40th Anniversary. We got them the best gift yet - lounge chairs!
They both love the chairs but I think Jeff loves them more!

We had a fun weekend but missed Daddy a lot.

Time Flies...

Everett LOVES to talk on the phone - just like his Mommy! I took this picture the other day because it reminded me of one of Everett's first phone calls with Aunt Jenny! My how time flies!! Our baby is getting so big!

The Beauty of a Shower

Everett has discovered the shower! He loves to just stand in the bathtub and let the water run off his head. Every now and then he likes to take a bath, but the shower is the way to go - so much easier!

SWIM CLASS

Last summer Everett was a little FISH! This summer he was a little apprehensive about getting in the water. We knew it was time to send him to swim class. He enrolled with one of his friends and is doing great. He is the best student and swims across the pool (with flotation) all by himself. He jumps in with no worries (of course we worry) and has so much confidence. I think he will become one awesome swimmer by next year. GO EV!

Baby Girl Gabel

We all thought that it wasn't possible, but Michele and Ross have created a Gabel Girl! We are all so excited and can't wait to meet her. Everett is most excited about sharing his trains with her and teaching her new things. Baby Girl Gabel is due to arrive around November 12th. We can't wait to welcome her into the world and the Spielman/Gabel Families.

Puberty!

Hold on not so fast! Everett is not quiet there yet (thank goodness) but he sure does like to pretend. With his new Shaving Kit, Everett likes to spend his Monday mornings shaving with Daddy. He loves shaving and is very precise - it's great practice!

Little Helper

Everett wanted to help his GaGa unload the groceries so Nancy gave him the job of putting all the items that belonged upstairs on the stairs. Everett would come into the kitchen and wait for his item and then run to the stairs and then come back for more. Well, after a few times of this I hear him climbing the stairs. So I went over there to see where he was going. It turned out that he didn't want to put more than 1 item on each step.

It was very cute!
